Brief Bio

Dr. Somanath is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Patna. He joined the faculty in December 2008. He served as the Associate Dean of Academics at IIT Patna from January 2016 to March 2017. Currently, he is the Associate Dean, Administration of IT Patna. His research interests include lightweight cryptography, security issues in resource-constrained devices, blockchain, Malware detection and Secure machine learning. He has published more than 100 research papers in various reputed journals and conferences. He has been the Principal Investigator of several projects related to security. Dr. Tripathy is currently an associate editor of the Indian Academy of Sciences' Sadhana-Academy Proceedings in Engineering Science and an editor of the IETE Technical Review.
