  • Dr. Jothi Prakash (CSIR Fellow)

    Jothi Prakash received his Doctor of Philosophy in Physics (Green Energy Technology) from Pondicherry University in 2019. His research interests are in the area of Nanomaterials for energy storage, self-cleaning nano-coatings, Boiling and Condensation, Hydrogen generation and SLIP surfaces. His current research focuses on fabrication of nanostructured slippery surfaces.

  • Chaitanya Bathina (jointly supervised with Dr. Ajay D. Thakur)

    Chaitanya graduated with a B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Acharya Nagarjuna University in 2013 and M.Tech in Green Energy Technology from the Pondicherry University in 2015.He is interested in solar photovoltaics, nanomaterials for energy applications and hybrid energy systems. His current research focuses on production of clean drinking water using low-cost moisture condensation technology.

  • Alok Kumar: CSIR-UGC JRF

    Alok Kumar received his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Orissa School of Mining Engineering in 2013. He received his Master degree from Nation Institute of Technology, Silchar in 2015. He is interested in fluid mechanics, renewable energy and multiphase flow heat transfer. His present research is focused on understand the behavior of dynamic contact line of liquid droplet on the rough and heterogeneous surfaces.

  • Madhu Ranjan Gunjan

    Madhu Ranjan received B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rajasthan Technical University Kota in 2012. Thereafter, Madhu completed M.Tech. in Nuclear Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 2015 where he worked on recoiling droplets. His research interests lie in the areas of condensation heat transfer, droplet dynamics, and surface engineering.

  • Nirbhay Kumar (previously on ISRO Project)

    Nirbhay graduated with a M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Patna in 2016. His M.Tech research was focused on investigation of surfactant aided bubble departure during pool boiling on upward and vertical facing heater orientations. He is currently working on design and development of wickless two-phase heat spreaders for effective hotspot mitigation from earth and space based electronics.

  • Sunil Mehra

    Sunil Mehra completed his B.Tech in Mechanical engineering from YMCA, Faridabad, and M.Tech in Thermal Engineering from IIT Delhi in 2013. He worked in industry as an Assistant manager in R&D of Bluestar India Pvt LTD, Mumbai. He has designed and developed a novel gasifier-based heating system for GreenCHILL and currently working on climate control unit under IMPRINT project.

    Rahul

  • Abhash Shukla (WTI Project)

    Abhash received his BE in Mechanical engineering from Parikrama College of Engineering, Pune (Affiliated to Pune University) in 2013 and M Tech in Thermal Science and Engineering from NIT Agartala in 2017. His area of interest is Multiphase flow heat transfer, Nanotechnology and Turbomachinery. He worked in Automotive industry as Maintenance manager for 2 years and having a teaching experience of 1.5 years. His current research focuses on the design and fabrication of all season optimal Atmospheric Water Harvesting system for production of clean drinking water.

  • Avinash Upadhyay

    Avinash received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from MJP Rohilkhand University, U.P. Then he joined IIT Patna in 2019 as a Master’s student in Thermo-Fluid specialization.   • Tonmoy Sharma

    Being a resident of Jorhat district in the state of Assam, Tonmoy Sharma graduated in Mechanical Engineering (B.E.) from Jorhat Engineering College, Assam, in 2019. He is currently a Master’s student in Mechanical Engineering Dept., IIT Patna and working in the domain of boiling acoustic based regime feature detection in TFTL. His is very interested in working in domains of heat transfer, CFD, machine learning based applications and system automation.

  • Ravikant Kumar

    Ravikant received Diploma in Tool & Die Mould Making (DTDM) from Central Institute of Tool Design, MSME-Tool Room, Hyderabad in 2010 and graduated from Institute of Mechanical Engineers(India) in 2013 with a Section-A & Section-B of the Associate Membership examination in Mechanical Engineering. He served as an Engineer, Tool Room and R&D workshop Department at Steel Strips Wheels Limited from 2010-2012. He is well trained on Microgoniometer, Infrared Camera, High Speed Camera, advanced CAD softwares like Pro/E, Creo, Solid Works, and AutoCAD, CNC-Lathe, CNC-Milling, Rapid Prototype, Wire-EDM and conventional machining process like Lathe, Milling and Shaper.

  • Dr. Durga Prasad Ghosh: 2014 - 2019

    Durga's Phd research was focused on developing adaptive vapor venting tenchnique for high heat flux dissipation during flow boiling in microchannels. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Oregon State University.

  • Vijay Kumar

    Vijay completed his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Amity University in 2017 and M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Patna in 2020. His master’s research was focused on Leidenfrost phenomenon and boiling acoustics. Currently, he is working on the development of thermal hotspot mitigation solution for microgravity applications.   • Durgesh Ranjan

    Durgesh graduated with B.tech in mechanical engineering from School of engineering, Cochin university of science and technology in 2017. He joined IIT patna as an M.Tech. student in the same year with specialization in fluid and thermal engineering.
