Sustainable Energy Research Laboratory (SERL) has been conceived with a goal to undertake cutting edge research in nuclear and solar energy engineering. In nuclear energy area, the current focus is on nuclear reactor safety especially the ballooning and bursting of fuel clad during LOCA sequence. Design and development of indigenous solar thermal technology with specific emphasis on solar collectors and their performance analyses are the objectives of research in solar energy engineering. In addition to the above, a wing of the lab is engaged in providing solution for thermal management of high power density electronic circuitry by exploiting two-phase flow boiling in mini and microchannels. Further, a special focus is also given to rheological characterization of various types of non-Newtonian fluids and to investigate their heat transfer characteristics.

Dr. Mohd . Kaleem Khan and Dr. Manabendra Pathak are leading the research group working in SERL.
