Need a recommendation letter?

Many employers as well as graduate schools require a letter of recommendation in order to evaluate applications. If you ended up on this page, you must have applied somewhere and in need of a letter from me.

I write letters of recommendation for people whom I know via one of the following interactions -

(a) as a student in my class,

(b) as an intern who worked with me in the past,

(c) is actively involved in a research project under my mentorship.

If you do not fall into any of the aforementioned categories I am unlikely to write a letter of recommendation for you. If you fall into any of the above categories, please keep reading.

I would like you to send me an email with the following information:

(a) Your latest CV.

(b) A detailed writeup (typically an essay of 300 words) describing your interaction with me. In this essay, you should describe any class projects you did, if it was a team/individual project, any specific concept you learned and demonstrated your learning via scoring top marks in an exam conducted by me, any other skills you learned in my class or under my mentorship. Please be as technically specific as you can.

(c) Your statement of purpose (if it is ready).

(d) List of places you will apply and expect me to write letter to. (List should not exceed 10 places).

(e) List of application deadlines.
