Quality Improvement Programme, commonly referred as QIP was launched in 1970 with an objective of upgrading the expertise and capability of faculty members of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved Engineering Colleges in the country. Under this scheme of QIP, sponsored teachers are eligible for admission to either Masters or Doctoral Degree Programmes. Admitted candidates are paid scholarship, in addition to the salary from the sponsoring colleges.

Three main objectives of QIP:

  1. Providing opportunities to faculty members to improve their qualifications by offering admissions to Masters and Ph.D degree Programmes.
  2. Organizing Short Term Courses.
  3. Curriculum Development Cell activities which help to improve class room teaching and learning.
