Controlled shape and size with tuneable band gap (1.92-2.41eV), nickel sulphide NPs was synthesized in presence of thiourea or thioacetamide as sulphur sources with the variations of temperature and capping agent. Synthesized NPs were fully characterized and subsequently used for rapid decomposition of crystal violet (CV), rhodamine B (RhB), methylene blue (MB), nile blue (NB) and echirochrome black T (EBT). Agitation speed, temperature, pH and ionic strength play the significant role for its active dye degradation efficiency round the clock (day and night) both in presence (day: sunlight, tungsten lamp) and absence (under dark) of light.
