Inauguration of New Boys' Hostel at IIT Patna
New Boys hostel Building at IIT Patna (IITP) was inaugurated on 24th May 2019 at 10 AM by Honorable Director, IIT Patna Prof. Pushpak Bhattacharyya in presence IWD Team, EIL Team, Faculty members and students of IITP and members of the Contractor. The building has been constructed by EIL (Project Management Consultant) along with M/s Kamladityaa Construction Pvt Ltd (KCPL) as executing contractors.
The New Boys' Hostel Main Building is a G+7 storied building having a unique T-shaped structure designed by EIL's in-house team. The new hostel is having four sections separated by three expansion joint in between. The hostel building consists of 224 numbers of spacious double seated rooms and total built up area is approximately 1,45,000 square feet. The hostel building has various modern architecture features such as cut-outs, through corridor and grid of fins for proper circulation of air and to reduce heat gain. Also, it has recreation space along with chill-out zones for students. This New Boys' Hostel building itself represents a class of its own. The inauguration took place with the cutting of the ribbon at main gate entry point by IITP Director, followed by curtain raiser of inauguration stone in Boys' Hostel area. Later plantation of saplings was done by the dignitaries. Finally, IITP Director addressed a gathering of EIL and IITP team member in the Mess Building dining area and appreciated team efforts of EIL and IITP IWD team. Director appreciated the modern architectural appearance of EIL’s design. The ceremonial function anchored by EIL RCM Mr. M.N. Alam. IITP registrar Mr. Vishwa Ranjan, IWD Advisor Mr. Sudhir Kumar, Head IWD Dr. V. Singhal, Associate Head IWD Dr. S. Varma, Executive Engineer Mr. D N Jha and Mr. Anil Verma and EIL Project Manager Mr. M. Lakshmanan also addressed the gathering. The ceremony concluded with vote of thanks by KCPL GM Mr. B. K. Singh.
