Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology, Patna recently organized a National Symposium on “Recent Trends in Chemical Science and Technology (RTCST) – 2012” during March 3-4, 2012.

The two days symposium hosted a number of invited lectures by renowned and eminent scientists from academia and industries from all over India. Shri Uday Chand Vice-President; Reliance Industries Limited graced the inauguration program as the chief-guest. The list of speakers include scientists of repute from IACS Kolkata, BARC, Mumbai, GE Global Research, IITs, IISERs, and universities such as BHU, Patna University, etc. Young and budding researchers (mostly graduate students or research scholars) presented their research results in two poster sessions.

The symposium is the first of its kind being organized by Chemistry Department and it aims to bring students, faculties, researchers, scientists, and academicians from various organizations on a platform where they can share and exchange their views, knowledge and learn from this scientific gathering. The symposium highlighted recent research developments in Chemical Science and related fields and create awareness amongst people of the region. Besides, RTCST-2012 gave an excellent opportunity for participants to interact with one another, exchange ideas and initiate steps for scientific collaborations.

The symposium has received generous support from various Govt.
